The word synergist itself is almost exclusively used in a medical context and is derived from the ancient Greek synergos, or “to work together.” Most pertinent to who we are and what we do is our favorite definition of the word synergist: “a muscle or a medicine that cooperates with others to enhance an existing effect.”

We stay up to date with current FDA regulations, policies and guidelines to ensure that we continue to provide sponsors (pharmaceutical companies) with evaluable data that will stand up to the scrutiny of any regulatory authority.

Synergist Research is a full service clinical research management organization; we handle every aspect of clinical research site management including marketing, contract negotiations, regulatory submissions and maintenance, patient recruitment and enrollment of studies. From the first contact with the pharmaceutical company or contract research organization (CRO) to the completion of the study, with the oversight of the Investigator, we will successfully implement clinical research protocols and conduct the day to day operations that will ensure study success at our locations.

We have extensive experience in negotiating clinical trial agreements and budgets with sponsor pharmaceutical companies and CRO’s that benefit everyone involved. We work with our Physicians to complete all regulatory documents quickly and accurately. Our turnaround time for the completion of all regulatory documents, including submission to the IRB, is unsurpassed and guaranteed to be complete within 72 hours of receipt. We handle our budget negotiations with the same expediency, returning an initial proposal within 72 hours for a typical study and within 96 hours for a study that requires outside costing, including procedures like an ultrasound or a DEXA scan. Synergist Research takes pride in how we manage the startup process to any and every clinical trial we manage and we carry that pride in our work through to the completion of the clinical trial or research study.

Pourus has over fifteen years of operations management experience in diverse industry verticals like pharmaceuticals, finance, technology, telecom & media; managing projects for different Fortune 100 and FTSE 100 clients. Prior to joining Westlake Medical Research in 2010 as a Research Manager, Pourus was the Deputy General Manager at Firstsource Solutions leading a project for a FTSE 100 UK Media client with over 340 people and $8.5 million in annual gross revenues. Pourus understands the importance of total quality management and continuous process improvements as the key ingredients to the long term success of any project or business.

Pourus has successfully enrolled and coordinated on over 50 clinical trials in different therapeutic areas like HIV, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Gout, Constipation, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases like Hyperlipidemia & Hypercholesterolemia. Pourus is a regulatory specialist and works towards developing positive relationships with the subjects to minimize early subject withdrawals from studies. His focus is to present the Sponsors / Contract Research Organizations with credible study data and give subjects access to cutting-edge medical drugs and devices.

Pourus has an Executive MBA and a BS in Mathematics. He also has a Diploma in Software Engineering. He is certified in Good Clinical Practices (GCP), a trained phlebotomist and IATA certified in the shipment of dangerous goods. Pourus lives in Los Angeles, CA and has a passion for Formula One Racing and Cricket. He loves to travel and try different cuisines.
